Collaborations with Girls’ Schools
Learning alongside peers, Saint David’s boys expand their view of the world.
Partnerships with neighboring girls’ schools broaden boys’ perspectives and deepen their learning. Through shared classes, performances, and service projects, they gain confidence working alongside peers whose voices and experiences differ from their own. These collaborations cultivate empathy, respect, and friendships that carry well beyond the classroom.
Joint Choir and Orchestra Performances
In the Lower School, First Choir and the fourth grade Chamber Singers team up with Sacred Heart’s Tweeters for a winter concert that brings families and students together. The Philharmonic Ensemble joins forces with Spence’s Middle School orchestra, rehearsing side by side in preparation for a joint performance.
Collaborative Programs for Seventh and Eighth Graders
By Grades Seven and Eight, collaborations become more immersive. Saint David's boys and Nightingale girls come together for academic signature learning experiences, service projects, and shared lunches. Students may also choose to enroll in a joint Theater Arts or School of Rock course with peers from Marymount—Friday afternoon electives that run throughout the year.
Eighth Grade Romeo and Juliet Performance
In eighth grade, a culminating partnership with Marymount brings Romeo and Juliet off the page and into performance. Students from both schools, having studied the text independently, come together for a series of workshops led by professional teaching artists. The program ends with shared scene performances for an audience of their peers.
