Upper Elementary Science and Mathematics Teacher

Saint David’s School seeks a full-time science and mathematics teacher, starting September 1, 2026. Saint David’s is an independent elementary school for boys, located in Manhattan. Founded in the Catholic tradition, the school welcomes everyone.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Teach four science and mathematics courses, Grades Five through Eight.

· Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to develop signature units that showcase students’ thinking and presentation skills.

· Where appropriate, form interdisciplinary connections, and integrate technology and inquiry-based learning.

· Participate fully in grade-level and faculty meetings.

· Attend lunch and special student activities such as class plays and concerts.

· Maintain effective professional communication with students, teachers, and administrators through a variety of media, including meetings, conferences, and formal academic reports.

· Engage in ongoing professional development.

· Maintain strong, positive classroom culture and climate.

Qualifications and Preferences:

· Dynamic hands-on teacher who emphasizes problem solving while building essential knowledge

· Commitment to professional development and science and mathematics curriculum development

· BS and MS/Ed.M in field related to science or mathematics

· Facility with technology

· Commitment to boys’ education and character education

· Collegiality, flexibility, humor

Salary range dependent on experience: $70,000 - $121,900
