Middle School Latin Teacher

Saint David’s School seeks a full-time Latin teacher for September 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities would include classes in Grades Five through Eight. 

The ideal candidate will:

·         Teach Latin to students in Grades 5-8, building strong foundations in vocabulary and grammar;

·         Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning;

·         Maintain strong, positive classroom culture and climate;

·         Participate fully in grade-level and faculty meetings;

·         Attend lunch and special student activities such as class plays and concerts;

·         Maintain effective professional communication with students, teachers, and administrators 

·         Work collaboratively with colleagues and the curriculum chair to implement and refine the Latin program.

 Successful applicants should possess the following qualifications:

·         Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor 

·         Excellent speaking and writing skills 

·         3-5 years’ teaching experience with Grades 5 – 8 

·         Strong background in Latin

·         BA in Elementary education or related field; MA in Classical Languages or a related field not required but preferred

·         Demonstrable commitment to professional development 

Salary Range dependent on experience: $70,000 - $121,900
