Middle School Latin Teacher
Saint David’s School seeks a full-time Latin teacher for Grades 5 through 8 for September 1, 2026. Founded in the Catholic tradition, the school welcomes applicants of all faith traditions (or none). Through our Teaching Boys Initiative™, all educators receive support and professional development through mentorship, research opportunities, and summer study grants. At Saint David’s, every faculty and staff member are part of something larger: the formation of boys into good men.
The ideal candidate will:
Teach Latin to students in Grades 5-8, building strong foundations in vocabulary and grammar;
Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning;
Maintain strong, positive classroom culture and climate;
Participate fully in grade-level and faculty meetings;
Attend lunch and special student activities such as class plays and concerts;
Maintain effective professional communication with students, teachers, and administrators
Work collaboratively with colleagues and the curriculum chair to implement and refine the Latin program.
Successful applicants should possess the following qualifications:
Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor
Excellent speaking and writing skills
3-5 years’ teaching experience with Grades 5 – 8
Strong background in Latin
BA in Elementary education or related field; MA in Classical Languages or a related field not required but preferred
Demonstrable commitment to professional development
Salary Range dependent on experience: $70,000 - $121,900
