Lower School Teacher

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Teach some core subjects

• Where appropriate, form interdisciplinary connections, and integrate technology and inquiry based learning

• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to develop signature units that showcase students’ thinking and presentation skills

• Participate fully in grade-level and faculty meetings

• Attend chapel and give chapel talks; attend lunch and special student activities such as class plays and concerts

• Maintain effective professional communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators through a variety of media, including meetings, conferences, and formal academic reports

• Engage in ongoing professional development

• Maintain strong, positive classroom culture and climate

Qualifications and Preferences:

• Dynamic, hands-on teacher who emphasizes problem solving while building essential knowledge

• Commitment to professional development and curriculum development

• BS and MS/Ed.M in a field related to elementary education

• Exceptional communication skills, including polished writing skills

• Facility with a variety of software programs

• Commitment to boys’ education and character education

• Collegiality, flexibility, humor

Salary Range dependent on experience: $70,000 - $121,900
