Masks in Art

Second graders are in the midst of creating their own "tribal" masks in mixed media, using recycled materials they collected. Earlier in the year, the boys visited the Met where they viewed and sketched masks from a variety of world cultures. The mask making unit explores concepts of shape, form, color, exaggeration and ritual.
