Communications Specialist

Saint David’s School seeks a full-time Communications Specialist for July 1, 2019. Saint David’s is an independent K-8 school for boys, located in Manhattan. Founded in 1951 in the Catholic tradition, the school welcomes everyone.

The Communications Specialist should demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, flexible, detail oriented, and be able to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the Communications Specialist will support electronic and print storytelling to advance the mission and values of the school.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to and assist with providing content for the school’s website, social media, and print communications
  • Support the Director of Strategic Communications with the production of Saint David’s Magazine
  • Photograph and videotape events and class activities
  • Proofread and edit text for a variety of print and electronic content
  • Interact with the technology department to implement website related content/function updates
  • Liaise with Parents Association volunteers to support their communications
  • Perform data analytics of website and e-blast traffic/use
  • Monitor e-blast reports to identify and address bugs or user issues


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, media studies, English, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • Experience and proficiency with digital marketing/social media
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to manage a photo database
  • Photography/videography skills
  • Commitment to the mission of Saint David’s School
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
