Pottery is offered at Saint David's in Grades One, Two, Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight. The goal of the program is to provide the boys with a strong foundation in ceramic design and construction while aiding the development of coordination and fine motor skills. Projects are introduced through the historical lens of the great ceramic traditions of world culture and both include utiliatrian and sculptural assignments.
Woodworking is offered at Saint David's in Grades Three through Eight. Basic woodworking skills are explored in the Third Grade program, and in Grades Four through Six, projects are based on the boys' classroom history studies. In the Seventh and Eighth Grades, boys may elect to take woodworking for a full year course, in which they explore turning, carving, and using a lathe.
