Problem of the Week

The Problem of the Week is a problem posed by the Math Department on a weekly basis.

Guidelines:

1. To complete the Problem of the Week, simply print the link below and solve the problem to the best of your ability.
2. Submit your written answer with your name and section to the Math Office, located on the 6th floor. All solutions are due by 9 a.m. the following Monday.
3. In order to earn credit for your solution, you must submit a written demonstration of your solution method.  Only one submission per student is permitted.
4. A correct solution earns two points, an incorrect attempt (with obvious effort) earns one point, and each week, the best solution (as determined by the teachers) will be awarded Solution of the Week and will be posted the next week. An invitation to a pizza party will be awarded to participants who earn a total of six points or who have been awarded Solution of the Week.
