The fifth graders performed Oliver before an enthusiastic audience of parents and fellow students in early June. This classic musical was produced by fifth grade teachers Tom McLellan and Jamie Downes, with Phyllis Clark the director and Jeff Moore the musical conductor. This year's  production included a tribute to Mr. McLellan, who is retiring from Saint David's after 41 years of service. Mr. McLellan began the tradition of the Fifth Grade Musicals, which also include productions of Pirates of Penzance, Tom Sawyer, and H.M.S. Pinafore.
