Saint David's boys, along with some faculty and staff, recently participated in a series of Walk-a-Thons to raise money for year two of the Dollars for Scholars community action project to build a school in Ethiopia. During their sports period on Tuesday, April 17th, fifth and sixth graders walked or ran around the Central Park Oval; the fourth and eighth graders took to the park on Wednesday. Boys solicited sponsors for their walks. An entire-school effort, the walkers were cheered on by boys in the Lower School as they left Saint David's and headed to the park. The younger boys also made banners and posters to build excitement for the event. More fundraisers are planned for the remainder of the school year. The Dollars for Scholars project was initiated by the Class of 2011 in recognition of the school's 60th anniervsary year. Last year, $25,000 was raised. The overall goal for the project is $100,000.
