Spring Concert

Music Chair Jeff Moore welcomed parents and Upper School students to Saint David's Spring Concert on Thursday, May 19th. The concert featured rousing and moving performances by the Saint David's Philharmonic Ensemble, The Percussion Ensemble, and The Chamber Singers. The Philharmonic Ensemble, conducted by Phil Hough, performed Finale from Symphony No 2  by Tchaikovsky, In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg, and The Theme from Dr. No by Monty Norman, and premiered Graduation Duet, an original duet for the violin and cello, written by a current eighth grader, which he performed with his brother to a standing ovation.

The Percussion Ensemble directed by John Francis performed Gigue from French Suite and Monkey Chant. Phyllis Clark's Chamber Singers completed the program with One Note Samba, accompanied by The Percussion Ensemble and teacher Gary Kessler on the guitar; Nada te Turbe, and Down in the River to Pray, featuring teacher Nicholas Reeb on the violin and several faculty members who joined in the singing.
