Mock Ellis Island

Third graders role played immigrants entering the U.S. through Ellis Island at the turn of the last century. The boys were interviewed by various processors (health, character, education) and either allowed to enter the country and sworn in, or detained. This activity is done in conjunction with the boys' winter study of immigration.
