As part of the Fourth Grade boys' study of world religions, they visit the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. The visit provides many of the students with an introduction to a non-Christian house of worship, and helps to familiarize them with various Jewish traditions and rituals. During the field trip, the boys look closely at decorative details of the Stephen Wise sanctuary and compare what they see to the interior of a Christian church. A highlight is the opportunity for the students to have a close look at a Torah scroll.
