In January, the Class of 2012 kicked off year two of the school-wide “Dollars for Scholars” project to build a school in Ethiopia from the ground up. The need for education in Ethiopia is well documented. With the help of Mimi’s Building Blocks and Save the Children, Saint David’s boys have undertaken the task of building a new school for 400 children in the area of Tigray, Ethiopia, where children are in desperate need of a school. Projected costs are currently over $100,000 for a K-4 school. Last year, the boys raised nearly $25,000 toward that goal. This project is a multiyear endeavor involving several fundraising activities organized and run by the boys. Students, parents, faculty, and alumni will be involved until we can “open the doors” of our new school.

"What better way to celebrate the mission of our school
than to reach out and help build another?"--Headmaster O'Halloran
